When the 2011 Nissan Juke crossover hits showrooms in October, it will be priced from $18,960. The Juke’s bold styling and driving dynamics are expected to help set it apart from competitors in the ever-crowded compact crossover segment.
Powering the Nissan Juke is a 1.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline Turbo engine rated at 188 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. The engine is expected to provide responsiveness with impressive fuel economy. Fuel economy is rated at 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway for front-wheel drive and CVT-equipped Juke models.
Aside from its unique engine, the Juke will feature other technology that will be firsts for the Nissan lineup. This includes a torque vectoring all-wheel drive system along with the innovative Integrated Control (I-CON) system.
“We believe JUKE’s unique combination of motorsports-inspired exterior and interior design and unexpected levels of technology – along with a starting MSRP under $19,000 – is going to propel JUKE into the heart of the fast-growing compact hatchback/crossover market,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc.
