There’s no denying that the all-new Nissan Juke crossover is not for everyone. Its quirky lines will likely keep plenty of more conservative buyers away. But so far, there’s nothing slowing buyers down in Japan, where the Juke is already on sale.

After its first week on the market, Nissan sold 1,300 units of the Juke – which was about 300 percent more than what the automaker targeted for the first month.

The positive response to the Juke has likely surprised and delighted Nissan execs, but the real test for this bold crossover will come this autumn when it arrives in dealerships in the U.S. and in Europe. But if the Juke’s reception in Japan is any indication, consumers in the States may very well flock to showrooms to get behind the wheel of this funky, sporty, and affordable, compact crossover.
