Nissan has just released pricing for the all-new Nissan Leaf EV – and it’s certainly competitive. Sales of the Leaf will begin at select Nissan dealers this December for a price of $32,780. Federal tax credit will also be available which could drop that price to as low as $25,280. Consumers can also lease a Leaf EV for $349 per month.
Nissan has long promised affordable solutions for the new Leaf, and while this pricing may not impress everyone, it is highly competitive and is expected to give Chevy’s upcoming Volt plug-in hybrid a run for its money.
“Imagine the possibility of never needing to go to a gas station again. Or of paying less than $3 for 100 miles behind the wheel. Or of creating zero emissions while driving,” said Brian Carolin, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, NNA. “Nissan leads the industry by offering the first affordable, zero-emission vehicle for the mass market. Nissan LEAF truly is in a class by itself.”
Included in the price of a Leaf is three years of roadside assistance. Additionally, local and state incentives will also be available that could help buyers save even more money.
One of the challenges with owning an electric vehicle like the Leaf will of course be charging it. Luckily, when the Leaf becomes available, Nissan will also offer charging equipment for the vehicle through their utility partners. Nissan says that the average cost of their charging dock, with installation, will run about $2,200. And, based on national electricity averages, the Nissan Leaf will cost less than $3 to “fill up” which Nissan dealers Cleveland say should alleviate the concerns of skeptical buyers. And many Trenton Nissan drivers see Leaf possessing plenty of technology for the price.
The all-new Nissan Leaf could make a big impact when it begins to reach showrooms later this year. With a full-charge, the Nissan Leaf allows for a driving range of 100 miles with a top speed of 87 mph. Those interested in making a reservation for a Nissan Leaf should consider making one now before it’s too late.
