Nissan To Unveil First Commercial Vehicle In US

by Nissan in the News on February 25, 2010

Nissan is looking to go head-to-head with Detroit as the Japanese automaker prepares to launch its North American commercial vehicle business unit with the unveiling of its first dedicated commercial vehicle. The new vehicle is scheduled to make its debut on March 10th at the National Truck Equipment Association’s (NTEA) annual Work Truck Show in St. Louis.

Nissan’s entrance into the commercial vehicle segment is remarkable considering the tough competition the brand will have to face. Commercial vehicle buyers have never seen a dedicated Nissan commercial product, which puts the pressure on Nissan and its dealers to deliver the ultimate product and experience.

Despite the challenge of entering an all-new market, Nissan remains confident that their take on the commercial vehicle will provide exactly what consumers demand. Promising a “smarter, bolder, tougher and more nimble” vehicle, Nissan’s new entry will likely deliver its fair share of innovative features. Expected to be based on the NV2500 full-size commercial van concept, which also debuted at the NTEA, it should offer incredible flexibility for countless vocations and applications.

Many details have yet to be released by Nissan regarding their new commercial vehicle venture. It’s expected to ride on a modified version of its Nissan Titan half-ton pickup platform, but there’s been no word on powertrains yet. Whatever platform the new commercial vehicle is riding on, Manassas Nissan dealers expect it to feature the same ruggedness and durability found throughout Nissan’s truck lineup.
