Last year Chrysler and Nissan appeared to have entered a perfect deal to build vehicles together. Unfortunately, bankruptcies and failing economies have come between the seemingly ideal partnership, and the two automakers are officially calling it quits.
It may have been an odd couple partnership admits Arlington Nissan, but the Chrysler-Nissan alliance seemed highly appropriate. With Nissan facing poor demand for their Nissan Titan pickup, Chrysler was to build a new full-size pickup truck based on the Dodge Ram beginning in 2011. This vehicle would have replaced the current Nissan Titan according to a Nissan dealer Wausau and would have provided Nissan with full-size truck from the leader in the truck segment.
In return for a new full-size truck, Nissan was going to build a new compact car for Chrysler in 2010, which was to be named Hornet. With Nissan’s penchant for smaller cars, Nissan was also going to supply Chrysler with a small sedan for sale in South America.
The Nissan-Chrysler was partnership was reportedly ended mutually. Despite being beneficial for both parties involved, Used Nissan Fredericksburg says the agreements have been stalled since early this year. Now that Chrysler has emerged from bankruptcy, the company is now controlled by Italian automaker Fiat, which gives the brand access to popular small cars from Europe.
