Backed by record sales and a robust all-electric driving range, the Nissan Leaf is making the jump from niche vehicle to the mainstream, and that includes becoming a part of Nissan’s popular Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle program. It will provide yet another way to introduce drivers to the many benefits of EV ownership while still providing the advantage of Nissan’s extensive CPO warranty protection.
In fact, pre-owned Nissan Leafs will go above and beyond the automaker’s traditional CPO coverage by ensuring 7-year/100,000-mile EV-system and powertrain protection, which includes protecting against loss of battery capacity. Then, like all the brand’s CPO vehicles, certified pre-owned Leafs will get a comprehensive, 167-point quality-assurance inspection as well as:
- A Carfax vehicle history report and 90-day buyback guarantee
- 24-hour emergency roadside assistance
- Three-months of complimentary Sirius-XM Satellite Radio service
- Rental-car reimbursement
- Trip-interruption protection
Only Nissan Leafs that are less than five years old and have fewer than 60,000 miles on them will be eligible for the program. Also, for a limited time only, Nissan will be offering a special launch incentive for CPO Nissan Leafs, with approved drivers able to take advantage of finance rates as low as 0.9 percent for 36 months.
“As more Nissan Leaf vehicles enter the used car market, we know it’s important for Nissan to provide the second owners the same confidence in the car that the original owner enjoyed,” said Erik Gottfried, director of Electric Vehicle Sales and Marketing for Nissan. “Adding Leaf to the Nissan Certified Pre-Owned program is a natural next step to strengthen the position of Leaf as the world’s No. 1 all-electric car for the mass market.”
