The folks at NAGTROC have already had a chance to see a copy of the 2012 Nissan GT-R owner’s manual, and they discovered something special. Nissan has apparently added Launch Control to the 2012 model — a feature that Nissan previously removed from the GT-R.
Cambridge Used Nissan said that Launch Control in the 2012 model has been renamed R Mode Start Function, and the image below explains what needs to be done to go from 0 to 60 mph in three seconds – or less
When the latest generation GT-R finally arrived in the U.S., there were many reports of transmissions and half-shafts being obliterated as a result of Launch Control. Subsequently, Nissan removed Launch Control on the 2011 GT-R. The new feature will do the same thing as before, but the 4,000 rpm rev-limit is significantly higher than the last version. Hopefully this time around, eager GT-R owners will take a little more care with this fun feature.
