The Nissan Leaf may have lost the North American Car of the Year Award to the Chevy Volt, but Used Nissans Manassas reports the new EV did help Nissan win another coveted award during the Detroit Auto Show. At the 15th Annual Urban Wheel Awards, Nissan was awarded the “Green Company of the Year.”
The Marlboro Nissan Service reports Nissan won the coveted award because of the companyâs environmental leadership in the automotive industry. According to the judging panel, Nissan has surpassed competitors by introducing the only affordable, five-passenger, fully electric vehicle offered by a mainstream nameplate in the United States.
“In celebration of the 15th Annual Urban Wheel Awards and our mission to educate multicultural consumers on advances in vehicle technology and the environment, we thought it was important to identify and give special recognition to the auto companies making the greatest strides in environmental protection and fuel efficiency,” said Randi Payton, president of Decisive Media. “Honoring Nissan with our ‘Green Company of the Year’ award sends a message that it is committed to a long-term vision of sustainability for the well being of all.” Seattle Nissan Dealerships congratulate Nissan for their achievement.
